Came here for lunch with a coworker and while they didn't have any tables we were seated at the counter where we could see the live making of soup dumplings which was cool. Service was quick and easy. We ordered the pork soup dumplings and each got a lunch special. I got the beef with hunan spicy sauce. From this order, the waiter asked if we wanted hot sauce as well which was nice and proactive. The pork soup dumplings were great and juicy and the portion for the lunch special was pretty big. One thing is that the beef with hunan spicy sauce didn't taste one bit spicy to me, just tasted like peppers with beef. I would come back for the soup dumplings.

This is the uptown branch of the famous Joe's Shanghai in Chinatown. The food was as good as downtown... and a TON of it. I made the mistake of ordering the dumplings (crab! oh yeah!) AND a main dish, as well as a couple beers. Cost me $60+. It was good for 2 meals (doggie bag), but if you don't want to walk around with your next lunch, I recommend either the dumplings OR another main dish. Luckily the staff didn't mind that we had reservations for 5 and only 3 showed. Note: the dumplings are the specialty, so stick with that. If you're with someone who doesn't like the dumplings... they can order from the back end of the menu.

Delicious. Soup dumplings were really tasty. We also had the veggie egg rolls and the veggie udon noodles. All of it was very good. I had a glass of chianti as well....Italian wine in an Asian food place? Why not? :) And it was delicious. Service was great.
